NPCI Enables Cash Withdrawals via UPI at Micro ATM BC Points

In a significant step toward strengthening last-mile financial inclusion, the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has enabled cash withdrawals through Micro ATMs using UPI at Business Correspondent (BC) touchpoints.

This development allows customers to withdraw cash from their bank accounts using UPI at BC outlets, expanding the functionality of Micro ATMs beyond traditional debit card and Aadhaar-based transactions. The move aims to make banking services more accessible, especially in rural and underserved areas where ATM infrastructure is limited.

With India’s vast network of Business Correspondents acting as mini banking centers, the integration of UPI with Micro ATMs will help customers access cash more conveniently while supporting the country’s growing digital payment ecosystem.

For Bank CSP operators and BC agents, this initiative is expected to increase transaction volumes and customer visits, strengthening their role in delivering essential banking services at the grassroots level.

NPCI’s initiative highlights India’s continued commitment to building an inclusive financial system where digital innovation supports easy access to cash and banking services for everyone.
